These two short commentaries on important Australian issues appeared on the web in two places, namely The Conversation and Pearls and Irritations. Mr Abbott was fortunately replaced as leader of the Liberal Party, and hence as Prime Minister, in September 2015. Also, Mr Joe Hockey ceased to be Treasurer.
